Founded BY women with lived experience of being in recovery FOR women who are thinking about or who are in recovery.
The Sheffield Women’s Individual Personal Experience Recovery Network was founded in 2024, after several women in recovery in Sheffield agreed to take part in a European Photovoice Research project being led my Mulka Nisic
The Women then went onto to become members of the first European Women’s Research Project which was launched in 2023 by The World Federation Against Drugs Global Gender Committee
Since then, the women from Sheffield have
• Hosted an exhibition of the Photovoice project as part of International Women’sDay
• Represented at the United Nations
• Represented and supported Rotherham Women of the World Festival
We also won this Years Recovery Street Film Festival with a film called Click on it ‘Dont Underestimate a woman in Recovery’
